There are those people who say “I almost had a panic attack” every time they feel mildly anxious. I get that; I’m hyperbolic, too. To most people, that means “I was feeling more anxious than normal”. To those of us who actually have panic attacks, that means something entirely different. It means a rapid heartbeat and shallow breathing. It means going to the bathroom what seems like every other minute, either because you’re going to throw up or for other, less decorous reasons.
